How to Get More Etsy Sales With Pinterest (Without Posting Every Day)
You spent hours creating your product.
You designed it, made the mockups, wrote the Etsy description, researched your keywords and finally hit publish.
And then?
Nothing. No Etsy sale.
Maybe a few views. Maybe someone favourites your product. But the sales aren't exactly rolling in.
Here's something worth thinking about.
What if your product isn't the problem? What if the right people simply haven't seen it yet?
That's where Pinterest becomes very valuable.

Your Etsy Shop Doesn't Have to Rely on Etsy Traffic Alone
Most Etsy sellers spend so much time trying to get found on Etsy that they forget something important.
Your customers exist outside Etsy too.
Someone is planning a wedding on Pinterest right now. Someone else is searching for printable birthday decorations. Another person is saving ideas for their new baby's nursery.
And some of those people are looking for products just like yours.
The opportunity is to get your product in front of them before they've even opened Etsy.
Here's How I Would Start to ensure I get Etsy Sales
Forget trying to promote your entire shop at once. Pick five products you genuinely believe people would want to buy. Now create three Pinterest pins for each product. That's 15 pins to get started.
But here's the part to pay attention to.
Don't make all three pins look the same.

Let's say you sell print-on-demand mugs.Your first pin could showcase the mug itself with a quote - quotes get a lot of attention, people are always looking for them.
Your second could show the mug on a cosy space, with a punchy headline.Your third could focus on a specific buyer, like a woman holding a coffee mug in a cosy cardigan.
This is extremely important because it gives your product different opportunities to attract different people - The gifter, the one buying for personal use out of necessity, or the one buying because of the aesthetics.
Also, pinterest loves fresh pins, so this puts you in the good books of the algorithm.
Why people give up on Pinterest (and it may happen to you too)
Creating 15 pins with Canva or AI sounds manageable right?.
But now you need to upload them, write titles, add descriptions, choose relevant boards and decide when to publish.
And next week, you need to do it again.
If you're running your Etsy business alongside a full-time job, children or other commitments, you'll decide to skip one day, and then one week, and next thing, a month has gone by without you posting.
It took me a very short while to realise that pinterest can quickly become another task on your already overflowing to-do list, if you do not have a strategy.
Which is a shame because the whole point is to get more people discovering the products you've already made.
Not to give yourself another full-time job.
Make Pinterest Work Around Your Schedule
The only way around this is scheduling. This is the main Pinterest hack. Successful pinners have found ways to automate their workflow and pinning.
You can use Pinterest's own scheduling features, or a tool like Tailwind if you want additional scheduling and workflow options.
Instead of remembering to publish pins throughout the week, you sit down for 1hr, prepare your content ahead of time, schedule it for the week and walk away. Your pins can go live while you're busy doing other things.
Of course, scheduling doesn't guarantee traffic or sales. You still need products people want, relevant keywords and pins that make people curious enough to click.
But pinning consistently with a scheduler removes one of the biggest reasons people struggle to stay consistent. And it gives you the opportunity to have a huge volume of pins that will eventually pick traction and start driving traffic to your products.
Realistically, it may take 2-3 months before your pins start getting any traction. But once it does, it's so amazing. I have pins i posted in 2024 December that are still sending traffic to my blog.
And that's the goal. A Pinterest strategy that allows you pin consistently without causing you to burn out.
