Amazon Affiliate Marketing is one of the easiest ways to earn money online. Amazon has millions of products, people already trust the brand, and when you pair it with Pinterest, a search engine platform designed for shopping inspiration, it’s crazy how much you can make.

Now to make up to $100 can be straightforward. For example I’ve nearly earned $100 this month creating lists of things I like in Benable and pinning them on Pinterest. See proof below and check out Benable here.

However when it comes to making  $1000, it will take some strategic planning so you don’t waste your time like many creators do.

If you keep reading this post,  I’ll walk you through exactly how to set up Amazon affiliate marketing and use Pinterest to realistically grow it into your desired $1,000/month.

Is Affiliate Marketing for you?

Affiliate marketing isn’t for everyone — but it might be perfect for you if you want to make money online without the stress of creating your own product from scratch.

Think of it as a shortcut. Instead of designing, shipping, and supporting a product, you simply recommend one that already exists. When someone buys through your link, you earn a commission.

No inventory. No packaging. No customer service headaches.

It’s one of the easiest and lowest-risk ways to start earning online even if you’ve never sold anything before.

Why choose Amazon affiliate marketing Specifically?

Out of all affiliate programs, Amazon is one of the most beginner-friendly because:

  • It’s trusted. People already shop on Amazon every day. You don’t have to “convince” them to buy.

  • It sells everything. No matter your niche, home, fashion, parenting, fitness, gadgets,  Amazon has products that fit.

  • You earn on everything. If someone clicks your link for a $15 coffee mug but ends up buying a $500 treadmill, you get commission on the treadmill too.

Combine that with Pinterest  where people go to find things to buy and you’ve got one of the craziest and easy ways to start making real income online.

How to go about starting Amazon affiliate marketing

Step 1: Sign Up for Amazon affiliate marketing

The first step is joining Amazon Associates program. It’s free and pretty quick to apply.

However, Amazon will want to see that you already have a platform to share links on. That could be:

  • A blog (best long-term choice).

  • A Pinterest account.

  • Another social channel like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok.

Once approved, you’ll get your own affiliate dashboard where you can generate unique links. Anytime someone clicks and buys, you earn money.

You will need at least 3 sales within 180 days to stay in the program. If you don’t hit that, they’ll close your account but don’t panic. You can always reapply once your traffic grows.

Step 2: Build Your Blog and Become a Go-To Person

Now before you think, “But blogging takes hours!” — it really doesn’t anymore.

Gone are those days when you’ll spend hours upon hours writing blog posts. Thanks to tools like Koala AI you can draft blog posts quickly, and then you can simply edit and add your personal voice.

People want recommendations from someone they trust. So having a blog gives you credibility and If your blog consistently shares helpful Amazon finds in a particular topic, you’ll become the go-to person.

Building a blog is really easy. Here’s the simple setup:

  1. Pick a focus you want to be known for – outfits, home finds, parenting hacks, or lifestyle tips.

  2. Choose a name – clear and memorable.

  3. Get hosting – I recommend Hostinger because it’s budget-friendly and comes with a free domain.

  4. Install WordPress – one click in Hostinger.

  5. Pick a theme – clean and simple.

  6. Write your first Amazon post

Your blog becomes your home base. As you create pins for each post you write, your pins send people to your blog. And because they trust your recommendations, they’ll buy through your Amazon links.

Step 3: Create Clickable Pins

Your pins are what drive traffic from Pinterest, so they need to catch attention. They need to be “scroll stoppers”.

I typically use Canva Pro (affiliate) to design beautiful pins with bold text overlays. I always stick to Pinterest’s sweet spot for pin size: 1000x1500px  or 1080 x 3000 px vertical graphics.

Not sure how to design pins? Buy templates from other Pinterest creators.

In need of some inspiration? Scroll through other pins in your niche and identify the one that made you stop scrolling. Was it the color? Title? Size? Font?. So long as it made you stop, it'll likely make others stop, so why not steal some ideas from that pin and design yours.

Step 4: Be Consistent with Pinning

The biggest difference between people who make a few bucks and people who hit $1,000/month is consistency.

Here’s a simple schedule to follow:

  • 5-10 fresh pins per day → link them to your blog posts.

  • 4-12 new posts per month → each packed with 10+ Amazon products.

  • Check analytics monthly → see what’s getting clicks, then double down.

By consistently pinning, you are stacking up dozens of pins that work quietly in the background, sending steady traffic to your posts.

How Long Until you make $1,000/Month?

Honestly? Pinning isn’t instant money. Most people who reach $1,000/month with Amazon affiliate marketing have:

  • At least 15–20 blog posts targeting Amazon products.

  • 1000+ pins circulating on Pinterest.

  • Pins cover seasonal and evergreen content

  • At least 3–6 months of consistent effort.

But once it builds momentum, it feels effortless. You’ll wake up to commissions from people who clicked your pins days ago and bought something while you slept.

Final Thoughts on how to make $1000 with Pinterest affiliate marketing

Amazon affiliate marketing on Pinterest is one of the simplest online businesses you can start.

No product creation. No inventory. Just smart blogging, helpful pins, and consistent effort.

Start small. Write one Amazon roundup post this week, design 10 pins for it, and put them on Pinterest. Then repeat. By the time you’ve got a library of posts and pins, that $1,000/month goal will be well within reach.
